Sunrise Portrait Session Waikiki Beach

Aloha everyone! I am so excited to share this gorgeous session here on our blog! Typically we shoot couples and weddings, but a few weeks ago I got to photograph this beautiful woman, Cris out on Waikiki Beach! She came to Oahu to vacation with her family, but wanted to take some time for herself to have some portraits taken to remember this beautiful trip!

Cris was staying at the Moana Surfrider Hotel right on Waikiki Beach so that is where we began our shoot! We both couldn’t have asked for a more perfect morning. The ocean was calm and the sky lit up in all sorts of vibrant colors. I loved stepping out of my norm to capture these portraits of this amazing woman!

Story time! 🤗

When our friend Shar reached out and told us he wanted to propose to Emarie, we were overjoyed! These two are wonderful friends of ours, and it was an honor to be a part of this special moment.

Shar and Emarie met when she was working at a kayak rental place, and Shar had rented a kayak to paddle out to Mokoli’i (Chinaman’s Hat) island.

We’ve always thought it would be epic to shoot there, so the idea of the proposal came to mind. It was the perfect place—not only for its breathtaking beauty but also because it was where Shar and Emarie first met💕

I told Emarie I wanted to plan a styled shoot there and asked her and Shar if they’d be our models. Of course, they agreed!

After kayaking out and hiking to the top of the island, we gave Shar the cue to pop the question, and he did! It was incredible to see how surprised Emarie was, and we were so happy able to capture these memories that will last a lifetime for them.

Proposals are always special to photograph, but this one was even more special since it was for our friends. Cheers to this incredible couple! 🥂💍
