With it being in the dead of winter here in Boise, we are excited to share Lauren and Torrey’s Willowbridge Spring Wedding from last year! This wedding was filled with lots of good memories and there were so many special moments that stood out to us from throughout the day.
One of our favorites was Lauren and Torrey’s first look. They shared this beautiful moment out on the dock at Willowbridge overlooking the water. Torrey’s reaction to seeing Lauren was the sweetest, we even got a little teary eyed! Seeing them come together with lots of excitement for their big day was amazing. One of the things many of our couples ask us in the process of wedding planning is if they should do a first look or not. We say it really depends on who you are as a couple and we have no preference either way! If you’re someone who wants to get photos done before the ceremony in order to have more time with your guests afterwards, a first look could work great for you. Having a first look is also nice to do if you are nervous about being in front of lots of people during the ceremony. This allows you to have that one on one time, just you and your fiancé before the big ceremony moment. Having this time together can be very personal, full of emotions and may even help calm your nerves before the ceremony.
Others have envisioned that moment of walking down the aisle and seeing their love for the first time during the ceremony. This is such a beautiful tradition and we totally support this if this is the way you want to have that special moment! No need to worry about photos or scheduling throughout the day if there is no first look. We have done this whole wedding thing a few times (hundreds actually) and we will help, coordinate and plan in every way we can to make sure your photos after the ceremony go efficiently and you and your new spouse have lots of time to socialize and enjoy your wedding celebration!
Whatever decisions you make when planning your wedding, one of our biggest pieces of advice that we share with our couples is that this is your day, and your should do what you want! Don’t let any vendor, family member, blog post or friend deter you from having those things that are important to you.
